Our Child Safe Commitment

Our school is committed to:

  • Promoting the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children.

Queensland Child Safe Standards

Our school implements the Queensland Child Safe Standards, which help organisations create environments where children are safe and feel safe.

The Standards include:

  • Leadership, governance and culture
  • Children’s participation
  • Families and communities are informed and involved
  • Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected
  • People working with children are suitable
  • Processes to respond to complaints and concerns
  • Staff and volunteers are equipped with knowledge and skills

Blue Card Requirements

Our teachers and volunteers who require a Blue Card comply with Queensland’s Working with Children Check requirements.

Reporting a Child Safety Concern

If you have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child involved in our school, please contact us immediately.

All concerns are treated seriously, confidentially and in accordance with our Child Safe Policies.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.

Parents and Families

Parents and carers play an important role in creating a safe learning environment.

We encourage families to:

  • Read our Child Safe Policies.
  • Speak with teachers or committee members if they have concerns.
  • Encourage children to speak up if something makes them uncomfortable.
  • Work together with us to promote respectful behaviour.

Children’s Rights

Every child attending our school has the right to:

  • Feel safe.
  • Be listened to.
  • Be treated fairly.
  • Learn in a respectful environment.
  • Be protected from abuse, bullying and discrimination.
  • Ask for help from trusted adults.

Continuous Improvement

Child safety is an ongoing commitment.

Our Management Committee regularly reviews our policies, procedures, training and practices to ensure we continue to meet legislative requirements and provide the safest possible environment for every child entrusted to our care.
