School for Adults
Brisbane Polish School offers online Polish language courses for adults taught by native speakers. The programme follows The Common European Framework (CEFR), an international standard for describing language ability:
A1 Beginners
A2 Elementary
B1 Intermediate
B2 Upper Intermediate
C1 Advanced
C2 Proficiency
A1 Beginners
- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases;
- Can introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details;
- Can interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks clearly.
A2 Elementary
- Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions;
- Can communicate routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information;
- Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in the areas of immediate need.
B1 Intermediate
- Can understand clearly communicated conversations at work, school, and during leisurely activities;
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise during travel;
- Can produce coherent texts on topics which are familiar;
- Can describe experiences and event as well as dreams, hopes and ambitions;
- Can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2 Upper Intermediate
- Can understand the main ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics;
- Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity;
- Can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain his/her viewpoint on topical issues.
C1 Advanced
- Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognise implicit meaning;
- Can express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expression;
- Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes;
- Can produce clear, well structured, detailed texts on complex subjects.
C2 Proficiency
- Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read;
- Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources;
- Can express himself/herself fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
Term Dates
Brisbane Polish School aligns its term dates with the Queensland state schools dates which are set by the Department of Education.
School Fees
Polish Brisbane School is a not-for-profit organisation, the funds raised are used towards its operational costs.
Academic year is divided into four 10-week terms.
Tuition for each term is
$310
per student
